Auxillary Nursing Mid Wife (ANM) project:
Joint project of RC Kathmandu Mid-Town with RC Mt. Everest.
Funded by TRF 3 H Grant, RC Kathmandu Mid-Town, UNFPA, Nick Simon Institute, RC Dramstat-Bergstrasse, KHFI, Poverty Alleviation Fund and others are supporting the project financially and technically.

Overview:
The key expenditure components consist of equipment and clinic furnishing, maternity supplies, training of ANMs, travel and rental costs.
Project to be implemented in 10 mountainous districts of Mid and Far West Regions of Nepal. The aim is to train 52 girls (5-6 girls per district). Each intake is for a duration of 18 months, to be conducted by Kavre Health Training Institute (KHTI).
This is to be followed up with training on child spacing, family planning, health and hygiene, safe motherhood, orthopedic, micro-credit etc.
Orthopedic Hospital in Jorpati and RMDC are supporting training in orthopedic and micro credit respectively.
While the project has 9 objectives, the key aim is to prepare the participants as health entrepreneur who will go back to their districts and establish medical clinics/shops to help reduce maternal and neo-natal mortality, increase FP access and service availability.
The training started on Sept. 2008 and shall be finished by September 2010.
